The Black Country

The Black Country sub-region comprises of Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton Councils who along with a range of other public and private sector partners are working together at the sub-regional level to bring about growth and enrichment of the Black Country as a whole.

Through a powerful combination of economic growth, regeneration and the development of an appropriately skilled workforce, the Black Country is a force to be reckoned with.

It has always been at the heart of the UK's business life.  From the early days as the cradle of the Industrial Revolution, to its status today as home to some of the country's most innovative organisations, the Black Country offers a unique business proposition and remarkable investment opportunities.

The furnaces have long since cooled and the chimneys that forged such progress are now towering monuments. What is left is truly fascinating. In a single visit you can enjoy glass manufacturing once synonymous with the area at Broadfield House Glass Museum, the Industrial past at the Black Country Living Museum as well as great performances at The Public, a new arts and events centre in West Bromwich and nightlife in Wolverhampton, one of the countries newest cities.
