In partnership with Improvement and Efficiency West Midlands twenty seven public sector organisations have developed an innovative and exciting future leaders development programme: Catalyst.

The target audience for the programme is individuals who have the skills, competence and ambition to realistically move into a senior role within a public sector organisation, within three years.

The vision for the programme is: “To create leaders to shape the future of public service through a high profile and innovative framework that will offer personalised development opportunities”. 

Six objectives for the programme are;

• To create a robust framework designed to provide a tailored development plan for an individual, which recognises the new opportunities and challenges facing the public sector.
• To provide an environment and an opportunity for participants across the public sector to build trust and understanding between individuals and organisations.
• To create space to enable participants to develop the insight to challenge existing thinking and innovate in the design and delivery of services.
• To establish a reputation and credibility for the programme to make it an essential CV/application form, component across the region’s public sector.
• To demonstrate a positive impact on the delivery of key LAA targets/ outcomes through bespoke project activity through the engagement of participants by doing something ‘real’.
• To build commitment across the regions public sector to this approach to leadership development to ensure the programme is sustainable beyond the funding period.
