360 for Elected Members

  • Are you looking to provide your elected members with a way to find
out if they are making the difference they really want?
  • Do you want to support them in taking action on ‘real’ development
needs to help them become excellent councillors?

Along with the development of 3 different levels of officer questionnaires (Operational Manager, Middle Manager and Top Tier), IEWM has also created a 360 questionnaire specifically tailored to the key competencies required of elected members, providing an online service to help councillors identify their skills and development needs. It allows councillors to see how they are perceived in their role and the practical outcomes of their behaviour.

To be effective in any job you need to know what is required of you and have the knowledge and skills to achieve it. We have therefore developed the Elected Members 360 Questionnaire using the competencies identified in the LGID Political Skills Framework. The key aim of the Political Skills Framework is to achieve a shared understanding of what constitutes excellent councillor performance and to help councillors and those who work with them, communicate and celebrate this with the wider community. The framework allows councillors to identify the requirements of them in their role, through applying it to a 360 review enables them to see how their constituents and colleagues think they are meeting up to these.
