Funding for Education, Training and Work Placements
As part of the Lifelong Learning Programme, under the Leonardo sub-strands, funding is available to organisations for Vocational Education and Training (VET), specifically around work placements for learners and staff, small cooperation projects, transfer and development of innovative best practice and European Study Visits. Adult Learners’ Week 2012 Award nominations are now open

If you know of someone whose life has been transformed through adult learning, or someone whose work on a ground-breaking learning project has made an important difference to adults' lives, why not nominate them for an Adult Learners' Week Award?
The Adult Learners' Week Awards recognise exceptional adult learners and inspirational learning projects. Whether you know a student, colleague, family member or friend whose life has been changed for the better by learning, or who has worked on a project that has made a difference to adults’ lives through learning, you can nominate them for an Adult Learners’ Week Award to celebrate their achievements.
Your nominee can be considered for one of the categories below if their learning is appropriate, so remember to tick the box on the form.

Adult Learners’ Week Awards recognizes the achievements of inspirational people and projects in the world of adult learning. By making a nomination you can highlight the difference that learning makes to adults' lives, build learners' confidence, and inspire others.

The closing date is 5pm on Friday 27 January 2012. Adult Learners’ Awards are only open to learners and projects in England. Read the Guidance Notes and Eligibility Criteria (www.alw.org.uk/nominations/docs/Guidance-Eligibility-notes- 2012.pdf ) before nominating to make sure your learner is eligible.
Everyone nominated will receive a Certificate of Achievement – winners receive between £200.00 and £1000.00 plus a certificate. These will be presented at award ceremonies held during Adult Learners’ Week 2012 from 12 to 18 May.
