How We Work
WMC Governance Structures
All 33 local authorities are represented by their leaders on the WMC Full Council which meets every six months as a decision making body.
The Full Council is advised by a Member Steering Group which consists of Leader representatives from our six sub regions: Birmingham; Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire; The Black Country; Worcestershire; Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin; and Staffordshire and Stoke, plus a representative from each of the three main political parties. The Steering Group meets bi-monthly.
The Chief Executives' Task Force is WMC’s senior officer group and is responsible for advising the Full Council and the Member Steering Group on matters of strategic importance. The Task Force also supports the WMC Host Chief Executive on significant operational matters which require a wider sounding or where technical advice/support is needed from local authorities.
