IEWM
Improvement and Efficiency West Midlands is the Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnership (RIEP) for the West Midlands, established to help the region's 33 authorities in their drive to increase efficiency and improve services.
IEWM provides specialist regional support in areas such as people & leadership development, performance improvement, LAA support, efficiency & procurement, transformation, adult & children's services. There is also support for Fire and Rescue Authorities.
IEWM provides a key vehicle through which to deliver the sector led approach; promoting strong leadership and ownership of the improvement agenda and enabling councils to access support from a variety of sources in a coordinated manner. Their key objectives include:
- To create a West Midlands climate of continuous improvement underpinned by sectoral leadership;
- To support all authorities to improve and in particular to address underperformance;
- To help equip authorities to meet the challenge of locality working and CAA and to achieve key LAA and MAA outcomes;
- To support authorities to achieve their very stretching efficiency and financial targets.
