Family Policies - Decent Housing for All

The purpose of this seminar, held on 14th October 2009, was to discover how the economic downturn is having an effect on housing in the region and how the views of vulnerable housing groups will be reflected in the new Strategy for the West Midlands. The seminar was chaired by Gail Walters (Midland Heart), with keynote speeches from Steve Forrest (WMRA) and Jean Templeton (St Basils).

The topics covered in the three seminar workshops were:

  • The role of housing providers to be 'place shapers'
  • Ensuring vulnerable housing groups are represented in the new Regional Structures (Post SNR)
  • The economic downturn's impact upon vulnerable groups
