Stage 1 Consultation Seminars
The consultation seminars constitute the first of two stages of the OPEN Project, which aim to stimulate debate with regard to social inclusion and protection. The Regional Assembly are leading the seminars in the West Midlands Region, with partners in Italy, Spain and Germany running the same programme of events.
The objective of the six thematic seminars is to tackle the principled themes of social inclusion and protection, including:children, people with disabilites, housing, older people, ethnic minorities and the labour market. The aim is to increase awareness of these issues, both within the public sphere, and within the various sectors working in these fields, and to stimulate meaningful dialogue between grassroots groups and policy makers.
A number of Case Studies highlighting good practice have been created through the consultation seminars, in association with Sustainability West Midlands and RegenWM. These aim to offer transferable learning and messages for policy makers.
