West Midlands Councils offers a range of services aimed at local councils to support performance improvement at both an individual and organisational level. These include Human Resources Support, Training and Consultancy, the Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnership, Support for Councillors and the Regional Recruitment Portal.
West Midlands Councils works closely with a range of partners including the Local Government Employers, IDeA and LGA, together with Department for Communities and Local Government, Government Office for the West Midlands and Audit Commission colleagues at a regional level. It is also responsible, alongside trade union colleagues for servicing and supporting the work of the West Midlands Provincial Council.
We have a long history of providing quality training and meeting facilities and our modern venue is suited to a variety of training needs and is ideally located within the city centre and is accessible by road, rail and metro. West Midlands Councils operate the Partnership Centre as a regional hub, offering other small organisations or regionally based projects the opportunity to co-locate at the centre under a corporate service level agreement. For a fixed annual charge co-locatees may access all office services and facilities available at the Centre including reception, ICT support, on site visitor parking, and use of the fully equipped Training & Meeting facilities. Colocation offers the opportunity to work more closely with other regional organisations within the open plan office to enhance and strengthen both individual and sometimes shared priorities.
