Signing up to the Charter

 In signing up to the Charter, your authority will be making a commitment to undertake the following :

  • Completion of the sign up documentation, requiring signatures by your Chief Executive and Group Leaders
  • To liaise with the WMC Lead Officer to agree an approach for your authority in working towards achieving the Charter
  • To nominate 2 elected members and 2 officers to act as Charter assessors. Nominated assessors will undertake a one day assessor training event and commit at least 3 days to prepare for and perform the assessment
  • To cover the associated costs for your nominated assessors i.e. travel and associated expenses
  • To share your authority's learning and progress with other authorities in the region. This could be through hosted learning events, focused exchange visits, peer support etc.
