Workshop D
Contracting Excellence by Lesley Matile
It may sound a paradox, but careful and tight contracting frees coach and client to excel! When the client excels, the organisational benefits multiply. Most tricky issues about working effectively together can be identified and eliminated through focused contracting, allowing the client to get on with achieving their goals.
How careful and tight is your contracting? Enabling your client to establish clear ambitions and success measures are important .... but there is much more for an excellent coach to consider, particularly internal coaches. What kind of a coach does the client want you to be? Where are the boundaries on confidentiality? What’s the role of feedback in the sessions? How would your client want to be held to account? How can you use your contracting to establish and build motivation? How do you involve other stakeholders in the ‘wider system’ to ensure your client is enabled to make the changes being sought?
What can you do through contracting that will help your client say that your coaching was their best investment ever in time and effort? In this highly interactive, informative and fun session, Lesley will share her experience of 15 years of honing the coaching contracting process.
